Although there were few trades in the first week after the restart, we were able to finish safely with a positive profit and loss. As a result, the balance went from ¥100,000 to ¥118,420.

Continue selecting EAs to add to the portfolio.
Because it is free, there are many trials, such as limited functions and discontinuation. However, even if there is no registration now, it may be registered tomorrow, so I will look patiently. Meanwhile, the other EAs that make up the portfolio are working solemnly.
That’s one of the advantages of portfolio management!
Last week, shortly after publishing my portfolio performance article, I noticed that the free version of Night JRNY was no longer available. I was shocked because I had been keeping an eye on Night JRNY for a long time and had just included it in my portfolio.
Since it claims to be a portfolio of free EA, it became necessary to remove Night JRNY and look for an alternative EA.
There were several candidates when I was looking for various things, but the free version was released for a short period of time, and before I knew it, the release of the free version was stopped. (* It means that only the paid version is now.) ）

As we announced, we have added one EA to our portfolio starting this week. This is the EA “Night JRNY Micro Scalper MT5" announced on Monday. In this article, I would like to reconfirm the performance of the added EA along with the results of this week’s portfolio operation.
What is “Night JRNY Micro Scalper MT5" added to Portfolio No.1?
As introduced in the previous article, this EA is a new type of EA that sets limit orders for BUY LIMIT and SELL LIMIT before rollover every day and aims for characteristic price movements during rollover, and the backtest results are also very excellent.
There are 9 currency pairs supported: GBPUSD, EURSD, EURCHF, USDCHF, EURBP, USDCAD, AUDCAD, EURCAD, AND EURAUD, and of course there are good and bad among them. Therefore, we first decided to compare the performance of each currency pair and select the currency pair to use.
The performance of each currency pair was ranked by “Complex Criterion max" (a composite value of trade quality calculatedfrom Total Trades, Drawdown, Recovery Factor, Expected Payoff, Sharpe Ratio).
All currency pairs had high numbers, but this time we dared to select 6 currency pairs in the green frame (99.99).

White Bear DT USDJP won all five and wiped out last week’s losses. Now White Bear DT USDJPY is also a plaster.
The balance that started at \100,000 also increased from \102,580 at the end of last week to ¥104,718, and the profit margin for less than one month until yesterday was 4.72% per month.
Incorporate more flashy EA and 100% monthly interest! However, this portfolio is intended to show you realistic, low-risk investments. We will leave that kind of thing to the specialist of that kind.

Advantages and disadvantages of portfolio management
Benefits of Portfolio Management
(1) Stabilization of earnings
Even if one EA makes a loss, the other EA offsets it with profit. It is no exaggeration to say that the main purpose of portfolio management is to do so. In other words, if you run multiple EAs, you can offset the loss, keep the damage small, and stabilize the profit.
* Please note that it is not always the case that it goes well.
(2) Can be replaced
1. Always monitor the condition of the EA used in your portfolio 2. Is there a good EA? Keep your antennae up at all times
If you can clear 1 and 2, it’s easy to swap, right? When you remove an EA that you think is not in good condition, even if you cannot find an EA to incorporate it right away, the remaining EA will work during that time. If this is operated only by a single EA, it will stop working until an EA to replace is found.
Disadvantages of portfolio management
(1) Losses may be large
It’s the “if it doesn’t work" that I wrote about in the “stabilization of earnings" notes of merit.
It is an EA of a different nature that can be said to be incorporated to offset losses, but it cannot be ruled out that it may be unlucky and lose money at the same time. It goes without saying that it is important to make the combination as difficult to lose as possible, but it is not easy.
Rather, I feel that the key to reducing risk is to build a portfolio with a certain number of EAs and reduce the contribution rate of each EA.
(2) Margin is required as many as the number of EAs
NOZAX Portfolio No.1 seeks out and builds an EA that can be operated even with little funds. However, when using a grid system or martingale EA that may have unrealized losses of several thousand dollars, the margin will accumulate as many EAs as you use. Of course, the number of EAs to be managed in a portfolio can also be increased as the funds increase.
(3) Multiple excellent EAs are required
If you don’t build your portfolio with a good EA, the bad guy will drag your leg and you won’t get the effect you want. It is very important to keep a good EA. ※ If you are reading this article, you will be fine, right?

It’s the second week of 2023 and many of you may have resumed trading in earnest by now. How has the year started off?
The way to assemble a portfolio is free, but in general, it is effective to “combine EAs with low correlation". Since it means “high correlation = trading at the same timing", it is naturally not suitable for combining as a portfolio. So, what kind of combination is better?
What is the point of combining EA with low correlation?
(1) Choose one with a different logic
By combining EAs of different logic, you can reduce the correlation. The main logic is known as follows:
Trend following: Aim for a trend continuation at a point of push or return
Breakouts: Aim for price movements that break through the highs and lows that mark the market
Counter: Aim for a reversal of price movements from highs and lows that are milestones in the market
Morning scalping: Aim for a return after a large price movement early in the morning Japan hours
Grid trading: a strategy to accumulate positions according to a certain law
* Some ones, such as grid trading EAs, may have a large unrealized loss, and you may need a sufficient balance to avoid loss cuts.
(2) Choose a different currency pair to trade
For example, if the first EA trades dollar-yen and the second EA trades euro-dollar, if you choose the euro-yen, which is a synthesis of them, the correlation will be stronger. Instead, it is more diversified to adopt currency pairs related to the pound and the Australian dollar.
(3) Choose one with a different trading time frame
Depending on the position holding time, it can be classified into scalping, day trading, and swing trading. Dispersing these is also important to reduce correlation. This is because the logic and nature of trading are similar on the same time frame, and the timing of entry and exit overlaps.

Starting this week, we have added “White Bear DT for NOZAX", which will be given away as an account opening campaign exclusive to this site, to our portfolio. When building our portfolio, we decided to choose a strategy to lower the correlation by trading different currency pairs.
Note that the number of lots for each EA was determined based on the size of the maximum drawdown of the long-term backtest. * The larger the maximum drawdown (MAX DD), the smaller the number of lots.

This week, I managed to win all 5 fights (+1186 yen), but it took more than 2 days (almost 3 days) for the position I took on 1/9 of TraderMind (USDCAD) to be closed, and it was a week that I didn’t feel like I had won. The balance recovered to 100,000 yen to 100,877 yen.
Strategies for the next week and beyond
I would like to add 1~2 more EAs to this portfolio, and then adjust the number of lots again taking into account profits.
For next week, we would like to continue operating with the current structure.
One week has already passed in 2023… I feel like the days have passed really quickly.
I think that many foreign-made EAs run away by increasing positions by martingale method in order to cover failed positions. As we have warned in the “Verification Series", the problem is the Equity Drawdown Maximal, which does not appear as a profit and loss graph in the final strategy tester report. In the case of Martingale EA ≒ the size of the unrealized loss. Depending on the size of the unrealized loss, the account could collapse at any time depending on when you start trading.
If you write too much, it will interfere with business, so I will refrain from doing so, but if you use a martingale type EA (limited to excellent EA), it is better not to touch anyone other than those who can operate with at least $10,000 or more of funds (+ sufficient additional deposit).
However, even though MQL5 is mostly made overseas, it is still “the collective intelligence of the world"! There is a more growling EA than expected. I am currently working on backtesting a free EA registered in the MQL5 community for the sake of an article, and I come across an EA that I want to use right away!
Therefore, in this “Try Portfolio Management" series, I would like to build a portfolio using EA that I wanted to manage. Please forgive me because the EA used and the number of lots may change from time to time.

This week, they had 3 wins and 1 loss on 1/5, with 3 wins on 1/3 and 1 loss on 1/5, and the total profit and loss was -309 yen（about $2.37）.
Strategies for the next week and beyond
It was a disappointing result for the first week, but it showed a trade that made me think that I could increase the lot a little more. Also, the backtest results strongly support it. Looking at the maximum drawdown figures in the backtest results, it started at $1,000, and the value at 0.01 lot simple interest was $18.14 (0.77%), and this time it was -0.69%, so it seemed that there was still a lot of leeway.
In fact, the official MQL5 page of TraderMind EA states that there is a limit of 0.01 lot maximum. However, on the screen where EA is installed on MT5, it is stated that “Order size is limited to 0.10 lots" …
So, when I tried it, I entered with 0.10 Lots without any problems!
Next week, in addition to adjusting the number of lots of TraderMind EA, I would like to add the campaign EA White Bear DT to the portfolio.
