About “ Two MA one Stochastic fix lot “

Quote from MQL5 official page

The “Two MA one Stochastic 5" Expert Advisor is based on a strategy that uses two moving averages (SMA) and one stochastic indicator to determine market entry and exit points. To improve the quality of the EA’s signals, the ADX and ATR indicators were added as filters. The arrow indicator from Codebase is used: https://www.mql5.com/ru/code/34955

The EA monitors two periods of moving averages – short (purple) and long (blue). If a short SMA period crosses a long SMA from top to bottom, then this is a sell signal (Sell). If the short SMA period crosses the long SMA from the bottom up, then this is a buy signal (Buy).

The stochastic indicator is used to determine whether the market is overbought or oversold. If the stochastic is in the overbought zone (above 80), then this is a sell signal. If the stochastic is in the oversold zone (below 20), then this is a buy signal.

The EA uses the ADX and ATR indicators to filter out false signals. ADX determines the current strength of the trend in the market, and if ADX is below the set threshold, then the EA will not enter the market. ATR is used to determine stop loss and take profit.

In general, the “Two MA one Stochastic 5" Expert Advisor is a multifunctional tool for trading on the forex market, providing the possibility of obtaining stable profits

Trading of “Two MA one Stochastic fix lot"

As with the previous ZigZag 5 EA, the free version is fixed at 1 Lot. Based on the signals of two moving averages (SMA) and one stochastic indicator (above, arrow indicator), ADX and ATR indicators are used as filters. Take Profit (TP) = 20 Pips and Stop Loss (SL) = 60 Pips are set as initial values for 1 trade and 1 position.

Screening of usable currency pairs

In order to select usable currency pairs, we screened using MT5’s “test for all quoted symbols" function. The test conditions are NOZAX Zero Account (ECN), $10,000 initial balance, period 01/01/2018 – 05/31/2023, timeframe H1.

  • Comparison: 22 currency pairs AUDCAD#, AUDCHF#, AUDJPY#, AUDNZD#, AUDUSD#, CADJPY#, CADCHF#, CHFJPY#, EURAUD#, EURCHF#, EURGBP#, EURJPY#, EURUSD#, GBPAUD#, GBPCAD#, GBPCHF#, GBPJPY#, GBPUSD#, NZDUSD#, USDCAD#, USDCHF#, USDJPY#

The above table is ranked by Complex Criterion max at the time of backtesting. Like the previous ZigZag 5 EA, it seems that it can be used with many currency pairs, but the free version of this EA is also fixed at 1 Lot, so the amount of funds may be a problem for multi-currency operation.

*Complex Criterion max:Composite value of trade quality calculated from Total Trades, Drawdown, Recovery Factor, Expected Payoff, Sharpe Ratio

This EA trades less frequently than the previously introduced ZigZag 5 EA, and the position holding time seems to be longer. The entry logic is clearly different from the ZigZag 5 EA, so it may be possible to supplement the ZigZag 5 EA for portfolio management.
